Revelation Law Firm provides a space for the holistic practice of law. We are pleased to be associated with Rainsound, LLC, a local Bay Area business focusing on providing holistic support for historically disadvantaged groups. Rainsound's services and workshops are conducted by Yolonda Young Armstrong, a social worker with over 10 years of professional experience and who is currently completing a master's degree at the School of Social Work at Smith College in Massachusetts. Currently, Ms. Young-Armstrong provides the following services for the Firm:
MY Revelation For Litigants:
This is a somatic education workshop that provides alternating weekly classes for women and men. The series will re-occur every eight weeks (attendees are expected to commit to the full eight weeks). Featuring a variety of somatic artists, each week we will introduce a somatic art (body-centered modality). Over a two-month period, attendees will learn eight different body-centered techniques that will foster healing for the mind, body and spirit. While offering tools of empowerment, these resources can soothe tension, anxiety and fear that often accompany various types of oppressive forces such as domestic and intimate partner violence, racism, sexism, homophobia, and spiritual oppression. Please contact Ms. Young-Armstrong at ymya@revelationlaw.com to discuss.
4-6 Sessions Of Holistic Counseling For LItigants:
Ms. Young-Armstrong also provides the holistic counseling sessions based on social worker techniques, as well as less conventional techniques including drawing, journaling, painting, visioning, vocal coaching and other means of healing and empowerment. This is a very effective service for proving Plaintiff's emotional distress or general damages claims in civil rights lawsuits. Please contact Ms. Young-Armstrong at ymya@revelationlaw.com to discuss.
Ms. Popper also provides regular holistic services for clients including the following:
Demonstrative Videos Based On Theater Of The Oppressed Techniques:
The Theatre of the Oppressed workshop
consists of physical interactions that are designed to challenge people to truly listen to what they hear, listen to
what they touch, and see what they look for. These activities serve to heighten one’s senses, demechanize the
body, and get one out of habitual behavior in order to move beyong habitual thinking and interacting. This
workshop utilizes the human body as a tool of representing feelings, ideas, and relationships. Through
sculpting others or using one’s own body to demonstrate a body position, clients are able to create anything
from one-person to large-group videos that reflect their impressions of a situation or form of oppression. These
videos can be virtual one-act plays or more often short scenes. In either case, a full presentation is offered to the
audience. The joker (difficultator) then says to the audience we will do this again, and if you would do something
different than what the protagonist (not the antagonists) is doing, stand up and yell stop. The protagonist will
then sit down and the audience member is invited forward to show their solution of the moment. Once the
intervention is performed, the audience invariably applauds, and the joker invites the audience to discuss the
proposed solution, and to offer even more solutions. At the conclusions of these exercises, the original scenes
are replayed with the intention that the protagonists will have learned more about how to handle their distressful
interaction.

Yolonda Young Armstrong, Founder and Owner of R.a.i.n.Sound, works with Revelation Law Firm to provide holistic resources to men and women healing from the effects of harassment and discrimination. She created this vision from her desire to ease human suffering and to ensure equality and justice for all. On the heels of the 1960s civil rights movement, Yolonda was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Yolonda’s life has been richly blessed by the influences of strong women in her ancestral lineage. She was fortunate to have a loving relationship with her great-great grandmother who lived to be 103. Yolonda was taught the basic fundamentals of life—such as the importance of nurturing the land, bringing family together for home cooked meals, and working for justice. Both Yolonda’s maternal and paternal grandmothers took extra pride in nurturing her development; most importantly they instilled into Yolonda the high value of honoring God, history and family. Since childhood, Yolonda’s heart has been intent on making a profound difference in the world and she attributes this to the strong legacy of women in her family.
